On 30th of April in Tortolì, on the airport runway, many people participated at the creation of the human bicycle. All participants wore pink t-shirts and pink caps. This is one of the many events awaiting the Giro d’Italia. Here are some events organized in Tortolì:
— Benches of Author
— Pink night, waiting for the Giro
— Cycle gathering in pink
— Photographic and historic bicycle exhibition
Moreover in Tortolì in the roundabout at the entrance of the village, there is an artwork made by the artist Giorgio Ladu, in honor of the Giro. At Arbatax and Tortolì professionals and artists created some murales dedicated to the Giro d’Italia. Every night the famous Red Rocks of Arbatax are illuminated by pink lights and in Alghero the Sulis tower will be lit in pink for the event. Meanwhile, Gianni Mattu and the students of the Artistic High School of Alghero created an installation with the help of sun umbrellas, deckchairs, sun loungers and life-jackets on the coast of Alghero (watch it now) in honor of the Big Start of the 100th Giro d’Italia from Sardinia and the athlete Fabio Aru, who will not be able to take part in the Giro due to an injury. On 6th May at Girasole it will be a flash mob in pink.
